At Kuisebmond Secondary School, we are proud to host an extraordinary program under the SWAN Assembly Trust, a non-profit organization run by our dedicated staff members. This program has been transforming the lives of students from impoverished backgrounds since its inception in 2012. Today, we would like to highlight the incredible impact this initiative has had on our school and the wider community.
Through the SWAN Assembly Trust, we provide support to children at Kuisebmond Secondary School who come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Every year, at the beginning of the academic year, these deserving students receive N$1000 to cover their school necessities. This monetary support is made possible through the generous contributions of individuals in Sweden, facilitated by the Flamingo Group.
To date, more than three thousand students have benefitted from this program, enabling them to access the resources they need to succeed in their education. The impact has been profound, as many of these students have gone on to achieve remarkable accomplishments. Their determination, coupled with the support they receive, has laid the foundation for their future success.
In 2016, recognizing the importance of continuity, we extended the program to include Immanuel Ruiters, our feeding school. This expansion has allowed us to provide ongoing support to the children throughout their academic journey, ensuring they have the necessary tools to thrive.

While every beneficiary receives N$1000 annually, we have introduced a special initiative for exceptional students. Each year, five deserving students are selected to receive N$1000 per month until their graduation. This additional financial aid is intended to assist them in meeting the expenses associated with pursuing higher education. We are proud to share that more than 50 students have successfully completed their university studies through this program.
Though the amount may seem modest in the face of university expenses, the impact is immeasurable. It is a testament to the resilience and determination of our students that they are able to make the most of this support and excel academically. We take immense pride in witnessing their achievements and celebrating their progress.
Let us introduce you to some of our inspiring beneficiaries. One outstanding student, who joined the program in grade 8 at Kuisebmond, is now in their third year of medical studies at the University of Namibia (UNAM). Another remarkable individual is a second-year Chartered Accountant student at the Namibia University of Technology. Additionally, we have a student pursuing studies in the field of science at the University of Namibia, alongside two other ambitious university students.
These success stories motivate us to continue our mission of empowering students from humble backgrounds. We are grateful to the SWAN Assembly Trust, the Flamingo Group, and all the individuals who have contributed to this life-changing program. Together, we are making dreams come true, opening doors of opportunity, and breaking the cycle of poverty through education.
As we reflect on the incredible achievements of our students, we are reminded of the power of compassion, dedication, and community. Through the SWAN Assembly Trust, we are not only providing financial support but also fostering a sense of hope and belief in the potential of every child. Together, we are transforming lives and building a brighter future for our students and our society.
At Kuisebmond Secondary School, we are immensely proud of the accomplishments of our beneficiaries and the unwavering support of our staff. We invite you to join us in celebrating the journey of these remarkable individuals and spreading the message of the SWAN Assembly Trust, as we continue to uplift and empower students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
