Kuisebmond Secondary School: Adding Flair to Namport’s Guest Greetings

Sharing is caring!

In April 2024, the Port of Walvis Bay witnessed the arrival of two majestic passenger vessels: the Queen Victoria on April 13 and the Queen Mary 2 on April 15. As the town buzzed with excitement, Kuisebmond Secondary School proudly stepped up to the plate, showcasing not only its vibrant cultural heritage but also its commitment to diverse experiences.

Cultural Unity in Action: Our School’s Performance

Amidst the anticipation, our school’s Oshiwambo Cultural group, adorned in their bright traditional colors, joined forces with the Marimbas cultural group, a private ensemble affiliated with Kuisebmond Secondary School, along with another local group, to extend a warm Namibian welcome to the visiting passengers. Under the guidance of our dedicated teachers, led by Ms. Kleophas, and with the unwavering support of our principal, our students embraced the opportunity to represent our community with pride and enthusiasm.

A Holistic Approach to Education: Beyond Cultural Showcase

While our cultural groups shone brightly on the welcoming stage, their performance was a testament to the rich tapestry of traditions that make up our school’s identity. However, this event was more than just a celebration of culture; it was a demonstration of our school’s multifaceted approach to education.

Preparing Global Citizens: Lessons Learned

At Kuisebmond Secondary School, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel not only academically but also culturally and socially. Our involvement in welcoming the visitors to Walvis Bay underscores our commitment to providing students with opportunities to broaden their horizons and engage with the world beyond the classroom.

Celebrating Diversity, Shaping Futures

Through experiences like these, our students learn the value of teamwork, cultural appreciation, and global citizenship. They develop skills in communication, leadership, and cultural diplomacy that will serve them well in their future endeavors. Our school doesn’t just focus on culture; we embrace it as a cornerstone of our holistic approach to education.

As we reflect on the successful welcome extended to the passengers of the Queen Victoria and Queen Mary 2, we take pride in knowing that Kuisebmond Secondary School is not just a place of learning but a beacon of cultural diversity and community engagement.

So, the next time you think of Kuisebmond Secondary School, remember that we are more than just academics. We are a vibrant community that celebrates diversity, embraces culture, and prepares students for a future filled with endless possibilities.

Let’s continue to welcome the world with open arms, one cultural exchange at a time.
