Empowering Young Leaders: Highlights from the LRC Leadership Lunch

Sharing is caring!

On 7 March 2025, we, the Learners’ Representative Council (LRC) of Kuisebmond Secondary School, had the privilege of attending an LRC brunch event hosted by the Junior City Council of Walvis Bay. This gathering brought together LRC members from various schools, providing a platform for meaningful networking and the exchange of leadership skills.

The event aimed to strengthen collaboration among young leaders while fostering discussions on leadership challenges and strategies. A highlight of the program was our keynote speaker, who left us with a profound message: “If you choose to choose or choose not to choose, you are still choosing.” This statement resonated deeply, reminding us of the power of decision-making in leadership.

The event was a great success—we not only gained valuable insights but also enjoyed the opportunity to interact with fellow student leaders. Through open discussions, we discovered that many of our challenges as student leaders are shared across different schools, emphasizing the need for teamwork and collaboration in overcoming obstacles.

The gathering also reinforced the importance of leadership beyond the responsibilities of an LRC role. It highlighted the significance of embracing opportunities for growth, developing a strong support network, and continuously striving for self-improvement. Events like this serve as a reminder that leadership is not just about holding a position but about making a meaningful impact on those around us.

We extend our gratitude to the Junior City Council of Walvis Bay for organizing such a beneficial and engaging experience. Their efforts in bringing together young leaders from different schools provided us with an invaluable opportunity to learn, connect, and grow.
