Kuisebmond Secondary School began the 2026 academic year on a high note with a special visit from the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Hon. Emma Theofelus, on Friday, 16 January 2026. Her visit served as a source of motivation, inspiration, and pride for both learners and staff.
A Message of Responsibility, Unity, and Purpose
Addressing learners, Minister Theofelus encouraged them to make responsible choices that will positively shape their futures. She reminded learners that success begins with doing their best in everything they undertake, emphasizing that consistent effort brings meaningful results in life.
She also spoke about the power of time and choice, encouraging learners to “sculpt their lives the way they want,” reminding them that the future is shaped by decisions made today.
Warm Welcome from School Leadership
The school principal, Mr. J. Maswahu, warmly welcomed the Minister and expressed sincere gratitude for her visit. He thanked her for taking the time to motivate learners at the very beginning of the school year, noting how impactful such encouragement is in setting a positive tone for academic excellence and personal growth.
Inspiration from Namibia’s Youngest Minister
Learners listened attentively and were visibly inspired by the words of the youngest minister in Namibia, whose own journey stands as a powerful example of what determination, discipline, and vision can achieve.
A Touch of Creativity and Appreciation

Adding a special and emotional moment to the event, Joseph, a former Grade 12 learner of Kuisebmond Secondary School, presented beautifully framed artwork. One piece was dedicated to Minister Emma Theofelus, while another was meant as a token of appreciation for Namibia’s first female President—a symbol of pride, leadership, and progress that the Minister will carry along.
Celebrating Sporting Excellence

During her visit, Minister Theofelus also handed over a trophy to learner Lumbu Matheus, who excelled in a Karate Championship and emerged as a top achiever. This moment highlighted the school’s commitment to nurturing both academic and sporting talent.
Government Support Eases the Burden on Parents
At the close of the event, the school acknowledged the continued support from the Government of Namibia, which provided essential stationery to learners. This support, which includes up to five hard-cover exercise books per learner, has significantly reduced the financial burden on parents and ensured that learners start the year well equipped for learning.

Kuisebmond Secondary School is grateful for the encouragement, recognition, and support received during this visit. It truly marked a strong and inspiring kick-off to the 2026 school year, reinforcing our commitment to excellence, discipline, and holistic learner development.
