Empowering Girls: Lydia Erastus and Miss Namibia Finalist Support KSS

Sharing is caring!

At Kuisebmond Secondary School, we believe in empowering our students and providing them with the necessary resources to succeed. Recently, we had the honor of hosting a visit from one of our remarkable ex-students, Lydia Erastus, alongside a Miss Namibia Top Ten Finalist for 2023. Together, they came with a noble cause in mind, leaving a lasting impact on our school community.

During their visit, Lydia Erastus and the Miss Namibia Finalist Ms Aina Nghipuilepo, originally from Walvis Bay, represented the October Charity Foundation in partnership with the Dema Dimbaya nonprofit organization. Their mission was to donate sanitary pads to young girls in high school as a celebration of World Menstrual Hygiene Day. Recognizing the importance of menstrual hygiene and the challenges that young girls often face, they demonstrated their commitment to supporting girls’ education and well-being.

Following the visit, Lydia Erastus expressed her gratitude and appreciation to our school’s principal. In a heartfelt message, she conveyed her thanks to everyone who made the event possible. She acknowledged the October Charity Foundation and the Dema Dimbaya nonprofit organization for their partnership and support. The generous donation of sanitary pads serves as a symbol of care, compassion, and solidarity for young girls in need.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Lydia Erastus, Ms. Aina Nghipuilepo, the October Charity Foundation, and the Dema Dimbaya nonprofit organization for their dedication to making a positive difference in our school community. Their commitment to raising awareness about menstrual hygiene and supporting girls’ education is commendable.

This visit not only provided much-needed resources for our female students but also served as an opportunity to educate and empower them. By addressing a topic often surrounded by stigma and silence, Lydia Erastus and Ms. Aina Nghipuilepo created a safe space for dialogue and opened doors to a brighter future for our girls.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved for their continued support and for sharing awareness towards this important cause. Together, we can break barriers, eliminate stigma, and ensure that all students have the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
