As the academic year draws to a close, Kuisebmond Secondary School has been abuzz with excitement, achievement, and celebration. From glamorous events like the Miss KSS pageant to academic milestones at the prize-giving ceremony, our school has shown what it means to be a “Society of Achievers.” With a series of events marking the end of this year, we’ve come together as a community to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our learners. Now, as exams begin, we prepare to finish the year strong, united in our commitment to excellence.
Miss KSS 2024: A Night of Glamour and Confidence

On the 28th of September, KSS hosted its much-anticipated annual beauty pageant, a night filled with glamour, grace, and school spirit. Our very own Agnes Gabriel from Grade 11A was crowned Miss KSS 2024, stealing the spotlight with her poise and confidence. Alongside her, Hope Almeida from Grade 10A took the title of Second Princess, while Naango Iita from Grade 9A was crowned First Princess. The event was well-attended, showcasing not just beauty, but also the pride and unity that defines KSS.
Prize-Giving Ceremony: Honoring Academic Excellence
In early October, we held our annual Prize-Giving Ceremony, recognizing the academic efforts and achievements of our senior grades. Our guest speaker, Mr. Andreas Oiva, an ex-learner of KSS, delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging students to face the challenges ahead with determination and resilience. His message was one of hope and perseverance, resonating deeply with both learners and staff.

The highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of our Dux Learner, Johnson Haikela, who excelled in his studies and received well-deserved prizes for his hard work. We extend our deepest gratitude to our generous sponsors for making this memorable day possible, as we continue to uplift our learners in their pursuit of academic excellence.
Valedictory and Matric Farewell: Honoring the Journey of Our Grade 11s and 12s

The day after the Prize-Giving Ceremony, we held a special Valedictory Celebration for our Grade 11 learners, marking the end of their journey through the junior secondary phase and celebrating the beginning of their senior journey. This event was filled with both nostalgia and excitement, as learners reflected on their time at KSS and looked forward to the future.
Following that, on the next evening, our Grade 12 learners were treated to a dazzling Matric Farewell, hosted at Iris, a venue near the Walvis Bay Lagoon. The night was nothing short of magical, with the venue beautifully decorated in a striking gold and red color combination, setting the perfect atmosphere for an evening of celebration. As they bid farewell to their high school days, the matriculants were reminded of their growth, their friendships, and the exciting journey that lies ahead.
National Exams: A Call for Unity and Focus
As the festivities come to an end, the academic year is far from over. This past Monday, 14th October, our Grade 11 & 12 learners began their National Exams, taking the first steps toward their future careers and dreams. For other grades, exams are set to begin on the 28th of October, as we move into a crucial period for all learners.
As parents, teachers, and the wider community, it is our collective responsibility to support our learners during this time. Whether through encouragement, guidance, or simply creating a positive study environment, we must work together to ensure their success. With the spirit of Kuisebmond’s achievers behind them, we believe they will rise to the challenge.
Looking Ahead
As we approach the end of the academic year, Kuisebmond Secondary School has shown that, despite the odds, we are indeed a Society of Achievers. From the glamour of Miss KSS to the academic triumphs celebrated during the prize-giving, to the emotional goodbyes of our valedictory and matric farewell, it is clear that KSS is a school filled with determination, pride, and ambition. Now, as we enter the exam period, we stand united as a school community, ready to end the year with a bang!
