The Kuisebmond Secondary School located in Walvis Bay, Namibia, has once again showcased its athletic prowess by winning 28 medals at the Regional Athletics Event held on Saturday, 1st April 2023. The school has been a dominant force in the region for years and has consistently produced some of the best athletes in the country. The school’s performance at the Regional Athletics Event is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its students and coaching staff.
The school’s athletes competed in various track and field events, including sprints, relays, long jump, high jump, and shot put.
Boys u/15
In the boys under-15 category, Elkana Ileka won a silver medal in the 200m and a bronze medal in the 1000m. Steven Kamumulu won a bronze medal in the 400m and a silver medal in the long jump.
Girls u/15
Tunga Ndiweteko won gold medals in the 400m and 800m races in the girls under-15 category. Elizabeth Hamunyela won silver medals in the 400m and 800m races. Hilma Kasheeta won a bronze medal in the discus and a silver medal in the shot put.
Boys u/17
Junior Nehemia won a gold medal in the 400m race in the boys under-17 category. Luchiano Gomachab won a silver medal in the 800m race.
Girls u/17
In the girls under-17 category, Annucha Ndjitaviua won silver medals in the 100m and 200m races. Monika Haingura won a gold medal in the long jump, and a bronze medal in the 200m. Alice Kaukungwa won a gold medal in the discus, while Hertha Namutuwa won a silver medal in the same event. Hilma Mumoye won gold medals in the 400m and 800m races. Martha Sheteekela won a silver medal in the 3000m race, and Paulina Matheus won a silver medal in the 800m race.
Boys u/19
In the boys under-19 category, Allen Petrus won a bronze medal in the long jump. Joshua Shikulo won a gold medal in the discus and a bronze medal in the high jump.
Girls u/19
Angela Uaaka won gold medals in the 100m and 200m races in the girls under-19 category. Elizabeth Alfeus won a bronze medal in the 1500m race.
